As the years go by and our lives get hectic, we often forget to take care of ourselves. I get it, you have a million and one things to do and none of them involve doing anything for yourself. So, since this is a common problem its important that we create self-care habits. I 100% believe that you can make anything a habit if you try, so why not create habits to help yourself. This may seem obvious but these are things we might not be doing but need to. So if you forget to take a moment for yourself, here are some ways you can create some self-care habits.

One of the best things you can do to start taking better care of yourself is taking care of your skin. Find the products that work for your skin. Just because something works wonders for someone else doesn't mean thats what your skin needs. Have a morning and night routine (you can check out mine here for an example) and don't skip it! And lastly, SPF every single day in super necessary, so don't skip that either.

This is one that we all know we need but we don't all do. I get it, the vitamin aisle is a scary place. Which ones do you need? Which are the best quality? I have no idea, but if you do good for you. I love the idea of companies like Care/of, where you take a quiz and get personalized vitamins based on your needs. But it can be pretty costly for some, so if nothing else at least take a multivitamin while you educate yourself on what else you might actually need.

We may not want to do it but we know we need to. Exercise is necessary for living a healthy life. I'm not saying you have to try to lose weight or bulk up or anything like that, but staying active and maintaining muscle mass are important, its also an excellent destresser. Try to make a plan for staying active like my workout plan or at least make it a point to go on a walk or take the stairs.

Go to the doctor

Hopefully you go to the doctor when you're sick or something is wrong, but we need to make sure we're going to all of our annual appointments as well. And I mean all of your appointments, even the dentist. It's better to know you're healthy and not just think you're healthy.

This is more important than you may think. Just maintaining your quality friendships is self-care. Having social interactions is necessary for our mental wellbeing. So make sure you keep in touch with those bffs of yours.

Do something for you

Whether it's reading, yoga, meditation, or even just being outside, do something that is a destresser. However you eliminate stress, try doing it for 30 minutes a day, if you cant do that try for a couple times a week. Whatever it is make sure you're doing something you enjoy.

What are your favorite self-care rituals?
