Health and fitness are super important to me but like most people with a busy life, sometimes these things get put on the back burner. I don't necessarily diet or workout 24/7 but I like to feel healthy, and I feel a lot better when I feel healthy. Don't get me wrong there are things I'd rather not give up (like my love for cookies) but developing some healthy habits can go a long way.

Balanced Breakfast: I am not a morning person so finding the energy when I wake up to make something healthy is almost impossible. Instead I try to eat a balanced breakfast. What I mean is if you're going to have an english muffin or some toast, pair it with some eggs or avocado. That way you're getting the carbs and a fat, instead of all carbs.

Healthy Snacks: This can be easy but of course you have to make it a habit. I try to keep things like nuts and fruit on hand so I don't grab chips or cookies instead. This makes me feel better and its such a small and easy change.

Healthy Dinners: I try to make healthy or somewhat healthy dinners every night. I love to cook and try new recipes but I also like quick and easy meals. So I have my go to quick healthy dinner recipes. I make sure we always have vegetable on hand to have with our meal, it just makes me feel better.

Water: Water is your best friend. I very rarely drink anything but water (except coffee, of course). Water is so good for you, it helps your skin and flushes the bad from your body. This is such an easy and great healthy habit. If you have trouble drinking enough water, try carrying a reusable water bottle with you so you always have some.

Paying for/scheduling exercise: Working out can be hard especially if you're busy and tired, but for me this is important. I used to book workouts in advance so I had no choice but to go, which was really good for me. So if you can get a class in now and again it's an easy way to hold yourself accountable. Now I use workout apps, there's a little less accountability but you're paying for something so if you don't use it you're wasting money. Gym memberships are the same idea, either you go or you waste a bunch of money. This idea can sometimes trick me into working out.

Sleep: Getting enough sleep is so important. I NEED like 8-9 hours of sleep, it makes me a completely different person. But really, getting enough sleep is key to a healthy lifestyle. If you're well rested you'll have more energy to exercise and do everything you need to do through your busy day.

Take a walk: I try to go on a walk everyday. Its good to get out and get some fresh air, also if you don't have time to exercise at least you're doing something. Try walking 20-30 mins everyday, you'll be surprised how good it feels.

Relax: With a busy life the best thing you can do is take some time for yourself and relax. For me that's usually hitting the nail salon or something like that every once in a while. Whatever makes you feel relaxed, make a habit of it. Whether thats sitting by the pool, going to the spa, or staying in bed do something for you.
